Anambas Food & Beverage
No holiday is complete without having a go at some of the local fare. In the case of Anambas, it so happens that the local food is delicious.
For example, take the dish called Mie Tarempa. The noodles used in this specialty are prepared from local flour and cooked eggs, mixed with bean sprouts, fried fish, topped off with chilli and soy sauce season. Awesome.
Another typical Anambas meal that's enjoyed regularly by the islanders is "Nasi Dagang". It's actually a serving-sized scoop of rice and a half a boiled egg, wrapped in a few banana leaves that are pinned together craftily with a thin wooden stick. Nasi Dagang is quite a scrumptious little snack that packs a great savoury taste. It's typically eaten for breakfast, but you can have it at any time of the day of course.
Now, if you're a coffee aficionado, then you're in luck, because the coffee in the Anambas islands is quite special indeed. Piping hot, pitch-black and with a unique, thick and smokey aroma, Anambas coffee is often served including the coffee grounds settled in the bottom of the cup. As a result, Anambas coffee isn't just rich in flavour but it also comes with a mighty kick.
Jemut makan :)
